They were recently recruited into Xi’an KOSUN Machinery Co., Ltd., which organized this study visit in factory especially for them to have a thorough knowledge of products and for their convenience at work.

    Led by the technician, the staff saw ZJ50 Solids Control System to be sent to Europe very soon and the products in Black Rhino Series on that day. During the vist, the technician made a detailed demonstration on such solids control equipment as Shale Shaker, Decanter Centrifuge, Mud Cleaner, Desilter, Desander, Vaccum Degasser, etc. and had a good communication with new staff who thereof understood more about company products.

    Prior to this, another half-month study tour in factory was also organized by HR Department for some new staff to know process flows and product features via long-term communication with workers. Then were followed by the product trainings for all new-comers as well as consequent examinations. All these together deepened their understanding of products. This time, they, who failed to participate in the previous factory training, also observed the products in person, getting a better understanding of the products and company.

  • Big Success of KOSUN Market Expanding in Mexico

    On 29th October, two clients from a subsidiary of PEMEX came to visit our factories in Xi’an. After viewing the several production lines in Xi’an Jingwei Solid Control Equipment Factory and Xi’an Yongle Solid Control System Factory, the clients showed great satisfaction with KOSUN’s capabilities in manufacturing oil drilling solid control equipments, as well as the good quality and excellent workmanship of the equipment.

    In fact, these clients has been in contact with KOSUN since June of 2013, and sent an inquiry for 2 sets of solid control system in August. After keeping contact through phone and email for several months, the clients decided to come to visit KOSUN’s factories and also wanted to make the final decision for purchasing 2 sets of solids control system. Because of our good quality products and superior service, the clients reached a cooperation agreement with KOSUN and signed a cooperation memorandum with our International Business Director Mr. Toby on 30th. What’s more, the clients promise to help KOSUN to promote its solid control equipment in Mexican market, and also show their expectation to be the exclusive agent of KOSUN in Mexico. For future cooperation, the Mexican clients suggest KOSUN go to visit their workshop in Mexico and build a joint company with them in the local market.

    The clients have left Xi’an on 31st, and we are now busy preparing the 2 sets of solid control systems for them. Though we still need to wait for the final decision of the 2 sets of solid control system, but the recognition of the clients means our equipment can be well accepted in South American Market.

    In drilling waste management, biodegradation has become one of the most favorable solutions among oil drilling companies at home and abroad due to its less expenses and the good environmental benefits it can achieve. However, different drilling environments mean applications of biodegradation vary.

    Biological drilling waste treatment describes degradation and mineralization of pollutants in drilling waste by bacteria growth, reproduction and internal respiration introduction of degrading bacteria and nutrients with the introduction of degrading bacteria and nutrients. It also takes advantage of biological characteristics in practical operations such as, liquid/solid separation by means of bios and degradation by means of adding microbial flocculant.

    However, the practicality of biodegradation must be taken in to consideration based on the local environmental conditions before formally deciding upon this treatment approach. "Indigenous" microorganisms, nutrition factors, humidity, hydraulic detention time, PH value, dissolved oxygen should all be factored into consideration before the implementation of biodegradation.

    “Indigenous” microorganisms are intrinsic microorganisms in drilling waste which do not need introduction and is comparatively economical, but is not effective in treatment. Nutrition factors play an important role in biological growth and metabolism. Therefore, drilling waste treatment needs appropriate addition of nutrition factors. Humidity is vital for biological growth and reproduction, but certainly of no significance for drilling fluids containing large amount of water. However, temperature should be kept under control. Minimized temperature is 15 degrees centigrade and the best is 30 degrees centigrade in drilling fluids treatment. Besides, for field operation of waste management, heating and insulation measures are needed for Winter and Spring and heating and cooling for Summer and Autumn. Hydraulic detention time defines how long treated wastewater stays in bioreactor. Organic pollutants in waste drilling fluids are, to a great extent, synthetic organic macromolecules which has a larger degradation rate than the other organic pollutants in wastewater, so the chosen bacteria should have better sludge loading ability. Above all, PH value and oxygen content of drilling fluids are also important factors and basic conditions for microorganisms to survive in drilling waste.

    At present, the international waste treatment primarily adopts such approaches as land cultivation method, composting method, bioreactor, microbial flocculants method, anaerobic bio-treatment method, aerobic bio-treatment method, natural treatment method(oxidation pond).

    Land cultivation method means to thoroughly degrade pollutants contained in drilling waste resorting to re-cultivation. It is very popular in many US and Russia drilling waste treatment sites, but it takes ages and costs a lot and is very easily affected by environment. Compositing method mainly degrades organisms by diluting drilling waste and then adding nutrients and sawdusts to attract microorganisms, which however truly is time-consuming. Bioreactor is both costly and energy-consuming since diluted and blended drilling waste and nutrient solution are put into certain tuner for adjustment of the survival factors for microorganism in order to achieve biodegradation. Microbial flocculants method makes good use of the principles of organic flocculants to solidify drilling fluids and degrade during the process. Apart from these, some drilling companies also apply anaerobic bio-treatment method, aerobic bio-treatment method, natural treatment method(oxidation pond) to improve on biodegradation and got good achievements.

  • KOSUN ZJ40DB Polar Rig Low-temperature Solids Control System Successfully Sent to Russia

    On Oct 17th, the ship loaded with KOSUN ZJ40DB Polar Rig Low-temperature Solids Control System left the harbour for Russia. The system will couple DS250 Mobile Orbit Rig produced by Italian WEI Company. The deal on KOSUN ZJ40DB Polar Rig Low-temperature Solids Control System is the second made with KOSUN after this Russian customer purchased its solids control system in 2007.

    KOSUN has finished with all the production and assembly of equipment in early August since they settled the order and has passed the inspection from customers at the end of August.

    On Oct 10th, the Logistics and Document Department took a rapid move to organize and communicate with delivery crew on loading equipment on truck after they received delivery notice. By Oct 13th, all the equipment was assembled and ready for delivery to harbour on Oct 15th. KOSUN’s rapid and safe assembly won high commendation from Russian customers.

    ZJ40DB Polar Rig Low-temperature Solids Control System contains 5 mud tanks, one water tank, two diesel tanks and one MCC system. It can perform group drilling in 10 wells. NO.1 tank is set on rails with its end connected to oil cylinder which pulls NO.1 tank along the rails across wells every 5 meters for 50 meters. Besides, connecting pipes are also added between NO.1 and No.2 tank when the former travels in order to ensure the safety of system. No.1 tank features in host materials welded by Q345D low alloy steel so that it has large strength and resists low temperature well.

    What is more, this set of system is also coupled with polar heating system to include the whole system, its relative cable tanks and exposed steam pipelines under thermo shelf as drilling processes since Russia Siberia Luktoil Oilfield Block is located in polar region. It is also matched with polar steam heating system putting 2 steaming warmers atop each tank to collaborate with heating system to ensure a normal operation of the system under the terrible polar -45℃ condition in regions like Russia Siberia.

    The takeover between KOSUN and Russia’s second largest drilling company–Luktoil Oil Corp. of ZJ40DB Polar Rig Low-temperature Solids Control System succeeded the success of the deal with Gazprom on solids control system and its successful completion and delivery. Meanwhile, the two companies have appointed KOSUN as the only solids control equipment supplier in China. This means KOSUN’s business in Russian market has already entered the mature phase.

    On Sept 25th, KOSUN 750HP, 1000HP, 1500HP, 2000HP Solids Control Systems got the passport into EU market after officially going through all the CE conformity assessment procedures.

    CE marking is mandatory within European Union market and is necessary for free marketability of the products made both by internal EU companies and foreign companies in EU market since it shows the products conform to all the basic directives subject to “The New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization”. Therefore, it has been regarded as a safety mark to consumers and even a passport for manufacturers into European market. CE-marking can ensure products are sold in any EU member nation without compliance with their requirements, thus realizing free marketability of products amongst them.

    The 51-year-old Fang, only as tall as 4.5 foot, has been born and bred as a peasant in Yonghe Town, Zhengning County, Gansu. His family is almost impoverished because not only is he disabled and unable to work, but his wife and son are seriously ill as well. On August, 2013, Fang, taking the 100 RMB collected by his neighbors, embarked upon the arduous journey to Xi’an Children’s Hospital for the purpose of sending his son to see the doctor. In order to reduce the traveling expenses, he spent 20 days walking 300 km and pushing his son by a perambulator to the hospital. It was diagnosed that Longlong had contracted equines. That was why his heels were unable to touch the ground and had difficulty communicating. Selective posterior rhizotomy operation had to be done to let him back to his feet, which however, was too costly for Fang to afford.

    It caught the attention of KOSUN’ s staff immediately when the media reported about the story. On August 31, they organized a donation activity in the hope to help the Fang and Longlong get over and they collected around 860 RMB in total. The next day, several staff on behalf of the company went to Children’s Hospital and handed the donation to Fang personally.

    Though the disease is relentless, the world is still full of love. Apart from the donations given by KOSUN’ s staff, many other loving people did their bit by donating some money, too. As drops of water may form a giant river, Fang has been given donations valued as over 13,000 RMB within 6 short days by Sep 3. Longlong had the first operation yesterday morning and is now in convalescence. And it was predicted that he would soon be able to walk as normal.

     Longlong sits in the arms of the nurse. He is not so much nervous as before since he has been visited by many loving people and now is able to greet them sometimes.

    From 20th to 22nd August 2013, the Fifth China (Shanghai) International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE), as the largest petrochemical exhibition in Asia, was held in CIOOE of Shanghai.
