    The project was developed to address the operational challenges associated with laboratory drilling tests, where drilling slurry is generated continuously. Conventional slurry collection and off-site disposal often result in higher transportation costs, longer processing cycles, and reduced operational efficiency.
    To meet the customer's specific operating requirements, KOSUN engineered a fully integrated mud treatment system capable of efficiently separating solids from drilling slurry while enabling water recycling for repeated use in testing activities.

  • A batch of CP68-55 centrifugal pumps has been shipped to Kenya for a geothermal drilling project

    This month, KOSUN dispatched a shipment of CP68-55 Centrifugal pumps to Kenya, marking another milestone in the company's growing presence in the African market. Situated along the East African Rift Valley, Kenya benefits from active geological conditions and boasts vast geothermal reserves, with a theoretical high-temperature geothermal capacity of 10,000 MW, the largest in Africa and the seventh largest worldwide. Geothermal wells in the country are typically drilled to depths of 1,200 to 3,000 meters, producing large quantities of cuttings and highly abrasive, high-solids drilling fluids. Therefore, reliable solids-control systems and wear-resistant centrifugal pumps are critical to ensuring efficient and continuous drilling operations.

    The Kenya geothermal drilling project, characterized by long-term continuous extraction, had come to an abrupt halt due to severe wear and failure of the existing sand pumps on-site. With the client facing a tight construction deadline, an urgent order was placed with KOSUN for the high-capacity CP68-55 centrifugal pumps. Featuring a flow rate of 200 m³/h and 55 kW of power, this model represents one of the largest offerings in the CP Series and is perfectly suited for mud tank feed and supply applications in demanding geothermal drilling environments.

  • CP Series Centrifugal Pumps Exported to Israel

    KOSUN recently shipped a batch of solids-control centrifugal pumps, which will ultimately be used in a trenchless mud recycling project in Israel. The customer is a local Israeli import trading company that regularly procures core equipment and materials from China, Turkey, and other sources, including mud purification systems, drilling support equipment, drilling fluid additives, bentonite, drill tool accessories, and more, to specifically serve local horizontal directional drilling (HDD) projects.


     
    The products purchased in this order are the CP34-11 centrifugal sand pumps, with a processing capacity of 60 m³/h, a power rating of 11 kW, a suction (inlet) diameter of 4 inches, and a discharge (outlet) diameter of 3 inches.

    These pumps are primarily used as feed pumps for desanders and desilters, continuously delivering rated flow and providing a stable mud supply to achieve solid-liquid separation. They can also serve as mixing pumps for jet hoppers (mud mixers) and as charging/feeding pumps for drilling rigs. The pump casing, impeller, wear liners, and other components are made of high-chrome abrasion-resistant alloy cast iron, which effectively resists erosion from quartz sand and cuttings in the drilling fluid.

    Compared with ordinary cast iron sand pumps, the service life is increased by 2 to 3 times. These pumps meet a wide range of system requirements and are well-suited for mud circulation and supply in small to medium-sized HDD trenchless projects.

     

     
    The CP Series centrifugal pump has long been a key equipment item for our Israeli customer. They have been partnering with KOSUN for over 8 years, with cumulative purchases of more than one hundred pumps to date. The supply-demand relationship remains stable, making them a high-quality, long-term partner built on a strong foundation of mutual trust.
     

  • KOSUN Delivers Mud Storage & Treatment System to Algeria

    As summer brings renewed momentum, KOSUN Machinery has completed the manufacturing, inspection, and loading of a customized oil drilling mud storage and treatment system for an Algerian client. A total of 32 truckloads of equipment are now being transported via the ports of Lianyungang and Shanghai for shipment to Algeria.

     
    The project features KOSUN's independently developed drilling mud storage and treatment solution, covering the full mud lifecycle through three key modules:

    – Mud Purification (Solids Control): Ensures efficient drilling fluid purification and stable drilling operations.
    – Zero-Discharge Environmental Treatment: Utilizes solid-liquid separation, oil-water separation, wastewater treatment, and resource recovery to reduce environmental impact.
    – Mud Station: Supports mud recovery, mixing, storage, and continuous supply throughout drilling operations.

    Together, these systems improve resource utilization, reduce waste, lower operating costs, and support environmentally sustainable oilfield development.
     

     
    As a strategic project in North Africa, the Algerian client required high standards for reliability, environmental adaptability, process accuracy, and production capacity. In response, KOSUN established a dedicated project team to oversee design, manufacturing, and quality assurance while strictly following international standards.

    Despite challenges including complex configurations and tight delivery schedules, KOSUN maintained rigorous quality control throughout production. Multiple inspections were conducted on critical components and assembly processes to ensure product reliability and performance.

    To ensure safe international delivery, KOSUN developed a detailed logistics plan, dispatching equipment in batches through Lianyungang and Shanghai ports. Dedicated personnel supervised loading, securing, and protective packaging to minimize transportation risks.
