  • The Features of the Insulation Shed for the Solid Control System

    The main features of the insulation shed for the solid control system are as follows:
     
    Ⅰ. The insulation shed is composed of components such as the shed roof, columns, column bases, cross braces, wall panels, pressure blocks, basket bolts, etc.
    Ⅱ. The insulation shed is installed on the tank surface, and the shed roof and wall panels are designed with a multi-piece detachable overlapping structure. It is connected and fastened through plug-in, pin shafts, M24 basket bolts, and other structural connections, which allows for quick installation, dismantling, and repeated use.
    Ⅲ. The shed roofs are overlapped with each other using channel steel to prevent water leakage. The wall panels can be independently dismantled and installed.
    The frame of the insulation shed is made of rectangular pipes, forming a triangular frame structure. It has good stability and high strength.
    Ⅳ. The wall panels and shed roofs are made of fire-resistant rock wool sandwich panels.
    Ⅴ. One single door is provided at each of the three stair entrances and the supply tank location.

    WORKING PRINCIPLE OF KOSUN SOLID CONTROL SHALE SHAKER
    1. When the solid control shale shaker is in operation, two motors rotate synchronously in opposite directions, generating reverse excitation forces through the exciter. This forces the screen body to move longitudinally, causing the material on the screen surface to be thrown forward periodically within a range, completing the material screening operation. It is suitable for screening sand and gravel in quarries and can also be used for product classification in coal preparation, ore dressing, building materials, power, and chemical industries. The working part of the solid control shale shaker remains stationary, and the material is sieved by sliding along the working surface. Fixed grid screens are commonly used in beneficiation plants for preliminary screening before coarse or medium crushing. They have a simple structure and are easy to manufacture. They do not consume power and can directly discharge the ore onto the screen surface. The main disadvantages are low productivity and low screening efficiency, typically only 50-60%.

     

    2. The working surface of the solid control shale shaker consists of horizontally arranged rolling shafts, with discs on the shafts. Fine particles pass through the gaps between the rolling shafts or the discs. Large-sized materials are driven by the rolling shafts to move towards one end and are discharged from the other end. This type of screen is rarely used in beneficiation plants. The working part of the drilling fluid shale shaker is cylindrical, and the entire screen rotates around the axis of the cylinder, which is usually inclined at a small angle. The material is fed from one end of the cylinder, and fine particles pass through the screen holes on the working surface of the cylinder, while coarse particles are discharged from the other end of the cylinder. The rotating speed of the cylindrical screen is low, it operates stably, and has good power balance. However, it is prone to clogging, has low screening efficiency, a small working area, and low productivity. It is rarely used as a screening equipment in beneficiation plants. The shale shaker body swings or vibrates within a plane. According to its plane motion trajectory, it can be divided into linear motion, circular motion, elliptical motion, and complex motion. The shaking screen and shale shaker belong to this category. When the drilling fluid shale shaker is in operation, two motors are synchronously placed in opposite directions to generate reverse excitation forces through the exciter, forcing the screen body to move longitudinally and causing the material on the screen surface to be periodically thrown forward within a range, completing the material screening operation. The shaking screen uses a crank-slider mechanism as the transmission component.     3. The movement direction of the body is perpendicular to the center line of the support or suspension rod. Due to the swinging motion of the body, the material on the screen surface moves towards the discharge end at a certain speed, and the material is simultaneously screened. Compared to the aforementioned screens, the shaking screen has relatively high productivity and screening efficiency. However, it has poor power balance. It is rarely used in modern beneficiation plants and has been replaced by shale shakers with more optimal structures.

  • Xian KOSUN diesel-driven shear mixing unit sent to the offshore drilling platform

    Last week, a batch of diesel-driven shear mixing units customized by Xian KOSUN for CNOOC International Division was packaged and shipped to be used in an offshore drilling platform project.

     

    Shear mixing units are equipment used in conjunction with the solids control system for oil drilling.  When formulating or increasing the total volume of drilling fluid, adjusting the density, viscosity, and filtration loss of the drilling fluid, drilling fluid materials (such as bentonite, barite, etc.) and corresponding chemical additives (such as polymers) need to be added to the circulating tank.  When formulating drilling fluid, various drilling fluid materials and chemical additives need to be mixed evenly to achieve optimal drilling fluid performance.  Directly adding chemical additives into the tank can cause a large amount of sedimentation or agglomeration of drilling fluid materials and chemical additives, resulting in poor dispersion.   Therefore, a shear mixing unit is needed to handle this process, ensuring that various drilling fluid materials and chemical additives are mixed evenly under strong jet impact and continuous circulation.
