  • What is the slurry pressurized balanced shield?

    The slurry pressurized balanced shield means that a partition is set in front of mechanical shield to form a slurry compartment between the partition and the cutterhead. The stability of excavation face is achieved in this way: feed mud into the slurry compartment, form a waterproof mud film with mud on the excavation face, and maintain water pressure by the tension of mud film to balance soil pressure and water pressure on the excavation face. The soil and sand excavated are transported to the ground in the form of mud and are separated by slurry treatment equipment. The separated slurry is adjusted in specific gravity and then transported to the excavation face.

    KD series slurry separation system mainly consists of scalping shaker module, desander module and desilter module. As a pre-screener, the scalping shaker can remove coarse particles from mud. The desander module is equipped with desander (primary cyclones) and fine-mesh shaker and mainly removes granulated sand. The desilter module is equipped with desilter (secondary cyclones) and can conduct a fine separation selectively according to the field needs of customers.

    Mud closed-loop circulating purification mode and lower water content in slags help reduce the environmental pollution.     What is HDD Mud Recovery System?
    KOSUN HDD mud recovery system is developed, designed and manufactured to meet trenchless technology requirements at home and abroad and is applied in purification treatment of mud returned from underground during horizontal directional drilling process. Cuttings with big particle sizes are separated by shale shaker, mud cleaner and other solids control equipment. Mud materials required are added and evenly mixed for circulation via jet mud mixer to meet performance requirements for reuse. Mud is pumped into horizontal directional drilling system by mud pump for recycling.   • How to adjust the apex of KOSUN desander to achieve an optimum spray angle?

    The spray pattern varies in response to the feed head (inlet pressure), feed rate and cyclone apex opening. To maximize overall desander efficiency, the spray pattern of each cone must be balanced for optimal performance. This is done by observing the lower discharge pattern and then adjusting the apex opening to achieve the correct discharge angle for the prevailing feed rate and inlet pressure. The spray patterns of cyclone underflow are adjusted through changing orifice nuts with different diameters.


     
    Ideally, the spray angle of underflow is between 20° and 30°. When the spray angle is greater than 30°, a hollow center is formed. In normal operation, this pattern is undesirable. This spray pattern indicates that the exit diameter of the apex is too large, and an excessive amount of liquid discharges along with the solids flowing from the bottom of the cone. Correct this condition by using an orifice nut with a smaller diameter.


     
    When the spray angle is less than 20°, a hollow center is formed. In normal operation, this pattern is undesirable. This spray pattern indicates exit diameter of the apex is too small, the solids discharge is too dry, and excessive solids are being discharged with the liquid from the upper discharge. Correct this condition by using an orifice nut with a bigger diameter.

  • PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield Company has fulfilled more than half of its production tasks in the first half of the year.

    By June 30, PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield Company produced 6.2 million tons of crude oil, an increase of 413,000 tons year-on-year, and 1.44 billion cubic meters of natural gas, having completed 53.2% of the annual plan, more than half of oil and gas production time and tasks in the first half of the year.


     
    This year, Xinjiang Oilfield's crude oil production target is 12.4 million tons. After surpassing 100,000 tons last year, the Company increases by 1.03 million tons this year, compared with the planned level of last year. The annual crude oil output, capacity scale and net increase rate are the highest in the history of the Company.
     
    In the first half of the year, Xinjiang Oilfield Company made a major breakthrough in oil and gas exploration. The Company achieved a historic breakthrough in the exploration of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin, and Gaotan No.1 Well had a high yield of 1,000 tons, creating the highest production record of onshore clastic rocks in China. The Qianshao No. 2 Well in the northeast slope of the Shawan Sag had high-yield industrial oil and gas flow, which was expected to form another large-scale exploration scene.


     
    This year, Xinjiang Oilfield Company deployed 1,407 production wells and 3.86 million tons of new production capacity. At present, it has completed 774 wells, newly built production capacity of 1.093 million tons, an increase of 308 wells and 407,100 tons respectively on year-on-year basis. The daily output of new wells reached 1,290 tons/day, an increase of 700 tons/day over the same period of last year.

    As people are paying more attention to sustainable economic development, the resource utilization of treated sludge has also attracted more and more attention. In recent years, with the development of China's economy and the unceasing advancement of urbanization, urban sludge has gradually increased. The traditional methods are sludge landfill, sludge farming and sludge incineration. But the sludge landfill will cause some environmental problems. In order to meet the three principles of “harmlessness”, “reduction” and “recycling” in sludge treatment, the sludge low-temperature wall-breaking carbonization treatment technology is adopted to fully realize the resource utilization of sludge.


     
    The sludge low-temperature wall-breaking carbonization process can recover about 80% of the organic energy in the sludge, and produce biochar with a wide range of applications.     Cuttings dryer is a continuous screen type centrifuge with automatic feed control designed for liquid-solid separation. It is designed to recover drilling fluid from cuttings by exerting very high centrifugal acceleration force on cuttings to improve fluid separation effect from cuttings.


     
    The cuttings dryer system catches any lost mud and returns it to active mud system. The recovery system works well with diesel, mineral oil and synthetic oil based mud. The system has proven to be more efficient with synthetic oil based mud due to the ease of oil separation from larger cuttings.
