    On Nov 28th, KOSUN’s first monthly was finally put online after one-month group discussion and efforts as well as emendations done by the technique team, art designing team, graphic designing team and editing team of EC Department.

    Right after the announcement, EC Department immediately set up a project team extending to the members from technique team, art designing team, graphic designing team and editing team. When the project scheme and timetable were agreed unanimously, they soon embarked upon their own part of assignments like, website designing, material collection, code writing, etc. Their pursuit of high quality and precision resulted in tremendous researches done on similiar web monthly, aimed at drawing on the strong points of others to make up for one’s own weak points, and a couple of round table discussion meetings for gathering different but as valuable proposals.

    By the end of November, after several rounds of reviews, the monthly has been proved ready to get online, with its overal color as diamond blue and the contents displaying Xi’an KOSUN Machinery Co., Ltd. from all dimensions.

  • KOSUN New Staff Sucessfully Graduate from Outward Bound School

    On the afternoon of Nov 28th, a 50-people bus took a group of trainees to Qingxin Yard Outward Bound School where they would go through tough training programmes for the next two days. They were recently recruited staff from Xi’an KOSUN Machinery Co., Ltd..

    After several-month adjustment to the new working environment, the new-comers were given the chance to be more acquainted mutually. The company decided to organize a two-day Outward Bound at the end of November at the foot of Qing Ranges in order to enhance bi- and multi-lateral communication among staff and to teach them team work spirit.

    Outward Bound is also called Experiential Learning. The name derives from a nautical expression that refers to the moment a ship leaves the pier, it will set out for unexpected journey therein many challenges will occur to it. Generally, Outward Bound programs aim to foster the personal growth and social skills of participants by using challenging expeditions in the outdoors.

    These days turned out to be ever unforgettable and meaning since the staff not only have tossed a ball 300 times by a huge drum controlled by almost 20 people via strings, but also have tried walking on 3-cm-diameter steel wire hanging 8 meters high hand in hand with another person, whose degree of difficulty stunned every one at first but later was surmounted by collective efforts of team. They learnt to obey, they learnt to cooperate, and they were taught to serve and help.

    During the visit, the Middle-Eastern client had a thourough inspection in KOSUN factory about its capability, technological prowess, R&D ability, sales team, after-sale services and so on. Through inspection and communication, the Middle-Eastern client took a heavy interest in KOSUN and finally decided to make KOSUN her company’s qualified supplier.

  • Learn to tell the causes for noises in retarder assembly

    Improper gear meshing means that continuous, clear noise is generated by too small or big gap between meshes, incorrect meshing sites, inadequate meshing area and will raise when rotating speed increases; improper bearing assembly describes the phenomenon that continuous, clear noise is generated by too small or big gap between meshes, incorrect meshing sites, inadequate meshing area and will raise when rotating speed increases.

    1. If sharp noise comes from rear bridge when the motor is traveling, it is usually caused by damaged gear teeth or damaged bearings,

    2. If the gap between meshes is too big, then:

    A. impact noise like “bang, bang” will be generated when the motor is traveling;

    B. the motor will squeak when abruptly changing speed or traveling uphill.

    3. If the gap between meshes is too small, then:

    the motor will generate noise like “Ow—-” when traveling. Then you can touch rear axle which if heats a bit, that means the meshing gap is too small; if overheats, that means a shortage of oil and you should check the oil surface.

    5. If the meshing gap in retarder planetary gear is too big or if the half axle gear or keyway is damaged, then:

    It generates noises like “Kaba, Kaba”when the motor swerves. Though with low traveling speed, they are still there, but immediately disappear when speed increase.

    The motor travels as normal when stamping the accelerator pedal, but generates noise like “Uh” when letting go the pedal. The noise disappears when the motor travels at a uniform speed.  

    6. Bevel driven gear jumps or fails.

    7. If the bearings are worn or meshing gap is improper, then: 

    The noise increases when driving speed goes up while reduces or even disappears when the motor is sliding.  

    8. If the half axle tubing curves and deforms, 

    Then the rear bridge generates unusual rumbling noise and keeps shaking when letting go the brake at the speed close to 60km/h. 

    Therefore, only after the causes for retarder assembly noise are made clear can it be possible to tell if it is the matter of retarder quality which is not the blame for all problems.

    The Black Rhino Series being manufactured mainly contains Shale Shaker and Centrifuge Series. Black Rhino Linear Shale Shakers generally fall into such two types as LS703 and LS833, the first stage equipment for drilling fluids solids control system KOSUN delicately made of best materials and by latest processes.     This system has been ordered from KOSUN at the end of August by European clients. Before that, they consecutively contacted several Chinese and foreign solids control factories with the demands for CE certificate and ATEX certificate.   • Brief introduction on retarder selection and maintenance

    1. For the first time, replace the oil after one-cycle operation. And replace it every 3-6 months later on. If the temperature goes too high or too humid, remember to shorten the period and to add oil. 

    2. Retarder is not lubricated when leaving the factory, so users should add enough lubricating oil until it reaches the designated height by oil standard. 

    3. When impact load is too much or startup too frequent, users should accesorize positioning pin  or hydraulic coupling between base and footing, or demand a positioning slot or positioning plane upon the base.

    4. Users should make it clear when placing the order if retarder output shaft should be installed upwards and negotiate over designing lubricating system.

    5. Horizontal and lateral retarder should be installed about 15° inclined. 

    6. Vertical and luffing retarders adopt pump reciprocating lubrication. When input power is<PG, horizontal retarder adopts splash lubrication. 

    7. It is regulated that retarder should use N220 industrial gear oil(horizontal one uses N150 gear oil), lubricating oil should comply with 八、8. After installation, the input shaft of retarder should be rotated flexibly by hand and output shaft rotated by 360°, the resistance felt everywhere should be the same, and lubricating oil should be added to the designated height by oil standard. Then, connect the power to allow it run without load for 1-2 hours and increase load bit by bit if everything is alright.

  • Common Ways for Speed Reducer to Treat Oil Leakage

    Common Ways for Speed Reducer to Treat Oil Leakage:
    I. Reparation: Take some as examples, scrape it if the joint surface of Worm Speed Reducer case cover is not closely sealed. Repair the tubing flare when oil leakage occurs at the tubing connection due to unfit bell mouth. Sometimes burrs, scratches and deformations of hydraulic lubricating control system components can cause external or internal oil leakage. If not serious, it can be eliminated by reparation.
    II. Fastening: Fasten the screws, nuts, connection points, etc. at the leaking place to eliminate the leaking phenomenon caused by loose connection. During the process, examination should be implemented on fastening situations of all connection. For daily maintenance, operators must also be aware of this point. They are supposed to fasten immediately once loose parts are discovered so that oil leakage or other unexpected problems and accidents will be avoided.
    III. Replacement: Replace them when it is found that oil leakage in speed reducer is caused abrasion on seal elements and unreparable damage on relative components. And remember to match the replacements and the opposite parts properly so as to prevent new oil leakage problem from following the old.
    IV. Dredging: It is a vital oil leakage management measure to ensure a smooth return oil passage. Enlarge the oil hole promptly, remove the sewage, do dredging or add new return oil hole tubing when it is found that the holes are not large enough, structure not reasonable and tubing blocked by sewage. A smooth oil passage will greatly reduce the chance of lubricating oil leakage.
    ( V. Sealing coating: As for pipe joint, use sealing adhesive to seal at the box seam to eliminate seep. Sealing coating method has the advantages of simplicity, remarkable effects, cheap costs and extensive adaptability. Usually, 70%-80% of equipment can be coped by different sealing coatings when it is leaking oil.
    VI. Retrofitting: Somtimes it is necessary to improve sealing materials, change fastening methods, replace lubricating agent, adjust return oil position, modify pre-leakage measures, etc in order to resolve the leakage problem. Retrofitting can take many forms. Generally speaking, it should be remembered not to affect the normal operation nor the original strength and rigidity of machine, especially by adding return chutes, enlarging screw holes, attaching oil dripping pans, etc.
    VII: Adjustment: Reduce system pressure, adjust sliding bearing, narrow the gap between shaft hole and journal by adjusting the oil pressure of hydraulic lubricating system so as to avoid leakage caused by too much overflow. Overcome the leakage problem resulted from its failure by means of adjusting oil scraper like loosening, tightening, raising and lowering the felt. What is more, it is the best to adjust at first and then take some other measures based on the proper matching of relative components.

     

  • Ways to Install Planet-Cycloid Retarder

    1. Steel or cast iron pads are applicable for retarder calibration, usually three pads are enough. Carved iron is another choice, but flat pad should replace it after calibration.
    2. Water-based drilling fluids should irrigate intensively without any bubbles, gaps or other failures.
    3. Choose GB1568-79 to match output and input shaft diameters.
    4. Pad should be arranged in parellel along basic screws so as to preventing deforming machine body with distance far enough to let irrigating drilling fluids flow freely.
    5. Calibrate its installing center line elevation, level and related dimensions of other connected parts if installing retarder upon the base. Calibrate the concentricity of drive and driven shaft as coupling allows.
    6. Do not hammer while adding such connecting parts as coupling, belt pulley, sprockets, etc. on output shaft, but fix the parts with screws put into holes at the shaft end since its structure cannot bear axial hammering force.
