KOSUN Zero-discharge Drilling Mud Treatment System in Service at CNPC Drilling Site in Wushenqi, Inner Mongolia

Dedicated to production and R&D of drilling solids control equipment and drilling waste management (zero discharge of drilling waste) equipment, KOSUN has sold the equipment to multiple countries and regions worldwide and treatment effect is well received by customers. KOSUN’s complete set of zero discharge drilling waste equipment is servicing successfully at CNPN Sulige gas field in Inner Mongolia.

Traditional cuttings dryer only applies to drying treatment of OBM(oil based mud )cuttings worldwide and cannot meet drying treatment requirements of WBM (water based mud )cuttings. Screen blockage occurs frequently, which results in service failure of cuttings dryer in water-based mud field.
KOSUN organized technical group of the company to surmount this technical difficulty with domestic and overseas experts in the industry. Technical improvements are made on the traditional cuttings dryer, adding multiple supporting equipment of new technology, such as intelligent electronic impulse flusher, air supply system, air conditioning system, water source filter, etc. for successful development of KOSUN G2 vertical cuttings dryer. Additionally, various improvements on configuration parameters, technological process and technical operation make KOSUN G2 vertical cuttings dryer VC2000 serve successfully in water-based mud field and it is the first cuttings dryer .successfully applied in water-based mud treatment so far in the world.

Birth of KOSUN G2 cuttings dryer means that VC series cuttings dryer can implement drying treatment of various kinds of cuttings, including WBM (water based mud ) cuttings, oil0bsed mud cuttings, synthetic-based mud cuttings, etc.
OOC after cuttings dryer treatment maintains between 5%-8% and the customer is very satisfied with the treatment effect. Successful application of the system in water-based mud field leads to new breakthrough of zero-discharge of WBM (water based mud ) in China and truly realizes discharge reduction from source, achieving purposes of zero-discharge of WBM (water based mud ) and recycling of waste mud. This technology has already applied for national patent.

Through treatment by KOSUN WBM (water based mud ) dryer system, solids discharge is greatly reduced and drilling fluid in drilling waste can be separated and recovered by high speed VFD centrifuge, which realizes drilling fluid recycling in drilling solids control system. Besides saving a large amount of drilling fluid cost for drilling company, the system also reduces handling and centralized processing cost of drilling waste, proven to be the best choice for zero discharge drilling waste project for drilling companies.
Meanwhile, KOSUN Hi-G dryer system equipment is also servicing at CNPC drilling site. After Hi-G dryer treatment, OOC drops to 15%-17%, which meets processing standard and handling requirements of Party A. Cuttings can be directly transferred to central treatment station for processing without solidification at site.
